I began my career in restaurant development with D&E Architects, serving as Client Manager for Brinker International before joining Brinker’s in-house development team for the next 10 ½ years. I started as concept architect for Corner Bakery and ultimately advanced to Director of Property Development, serving as a central point of coordination between real estate, planning, civil engineering, construction, and legal teams.

Throughout my tenure, I supported the planning, entitlement, and execution of approximately 137 restaurants across multiple national brands including Corner Bakery, Maggiano’s, On The Border, Macaroni Grill, and Chili’s working from the owner’s side to guide projects through early planning, approvals, and implementation. My focus was on coordination, strategy, and execution support focusing on:

  • Site evaluation, feasibility, and due diligence coordination
  • Lease, LOI, and development agreement support
  • Scheduling and coordination of owner-retained consultants
  • Permitting and entitlement strategy support
  • Participation in public review processes, including planning and zoning and municipal hearings

Next, I transitioned into retail and mixed-use development roles within development organizations in the DFW market. Working for The Woodmont Company, Mays & Company, UCD Corporation, and The Food Hall Company, I supported a range of ground-up and tenant improvement projects from the owner’s side. In these roles, I focused on planning, coordination, and execution support across multiple project types, working closely with real estate, construction, and consultant teams expanding into:

  • Site evaluation, planning coordination, and property analysis
  • Support for lease, LOI, and development agreement negotiations
  • Coordination of owner-retained consultants and tenant teams
  • Budgeting, scheduling, and development process coordination
  • Oversight of exterior design guidelines and project standards
  • Coordination related to tenant improvements, signage, and wayfinding
  • Support during bidding and construction coordination phases

Most recently, I spent over five years with Hillwood Communities working within the DFW market supporting multiple large-scale residential communities from the owner’s side. My role focused on planning, coordination, and execution support from early visioning through implementation, working alongside internal teams and owner-retained consultants with my responsibilities including:

  • Supporting visioning, storytelling, and placemaking initiatives
  • Coordinating community master planning efforts
  • Collaboration with property management and operations teams on amenity planning
  • Development and administration of builder design guidelines
  • Coordination and review processes supporting builder home plan approvals
  • Oversight and coordination of owner-retained consultants across planning, landscape, architectural, engineering, and specialty disciplines
  • Coordination of landscape planning concepts and community open-space strategies
  • Support for themed environments and play areas, including coordination related to programming, wayfinding, and experiential elements
